This feature was requested before, but I believe it is a much needed revival of the request:

Essentially, a user should be able to select the corner and slowly chamfer it away rather than go back and forth between chamfer distances and selectable edges only to delete them in order to chamfer directly from an apex.
Please reconsider enabling this.
