3 + 1, 1 being continues milling on a 4th axis and indexing, at the moment 3 + 1 is just indexing no continues 4th axis.
3 + 2 working like it should A and B axis or B and C axis defined by post processor.
or 3 axis with indexing (3 + 1)
3 axis with continues 4th axis milling (3 + 1)
I have worked out fusion can doing indexing very well to a point angle dependant, you just need to have references plane for each cut set to get it done.
@keqingsong If you wont more info on the indexing I will try to do a screen cast of it for a worm wheel gear using planes for reference's for A axis moves, I should just do a document on it, as any up dates will just make it beter so it will be usefull for sometime.
now if we could pull .lua files into fusion through C it would be doable it can be done with monkey script, monkey script can do it whats a jarva C type script so jarva should be able to do it to
The "Use 4-axis" is only enabled when beta mode is on. Beta mode often includes unfinished functions. Parallel 4 axis support is under active development is one such function. There is enough remaining work that an estimated completion is not yet know. But, work has started.
The Cam team all they way back into their time as HSMWorks has an option to turn on beta mode so machine tool partners and resellers could look at in development features. These features are not complete and should not ever be used in production. Tool crashes and other adverse effects are sure to happen. The 4 axis option shown and mentioned here is one of these unfinished functions. But, the fact that it is showing up is proof that this is actively being worked on and should make to customers soon.
Fusion 360 often has some capability in preview. Waterjet and color coded sketch lines are two current examples. These are features that are "mostly" ready for user to use.
We use these tools to get feedback early in our cycles ( beta mode) and later (preview) so that we build capabilities that better meet customers needs.
it`s hard to do a program to lock out the Y axis and use A as Y so it can do round movments and do cut comp at the same time it can be done in .Lua dont know about java,
tony978: Would you be ok to change the title for this Idea to "Continuous 4th axis milling"?
Asking because you have "Continues", which is not the correct word there (different meaning!). 😉 That could confuse some people, possibly stopping this idea from getting looked at. (oops!)
