Component Mirror Feature

Component Mirror Feature

When you have two components in your model that are exactly the same, you don't want to create the same component  with the same features twice. You would rather mirror, copy or pattern that component to have two. Mirroring is the quickest option but unlike Copy and Pattern, Mirror creates another part instead of two of the same parts, which messes up your parts list in you drawing. So my idea is for a function to be added to the Mirror feature to have an option to link your mirrored component so that it's seen as two of the same component and if changes are made to the one, the other one would be changed simultaneously as in a copy or pattern.

You can do that by saving a copy of the component somewhere (I use a "Parts" folder), deleting the original from your design, then inserting it into your current design. Once it's there and positioned, copy the linked component and paste it in and reposition it. Any changes to the master copy you saved will be reflected in the design, however many copies you made of it in the design.
