Comments space in the Data Panel

Comments space in the Data Panel

I would be incredibly useful to me to be able to tag parts I import from suppliers (or ones I make myself, for that matter) with some notes that would show when I click on the info icon in the data panel. i.e. “socket fits .022-.035” pins, available on tape and reel with solder plugs”. Many parts look nearly identical and have inscrutable part numbers (which I want to keep as their part names). Some custom labeling or commenting ability directly accessible from the data panel would help me a lot when I’m trying to locate a particular component.

This function would be far more valuable to me than the “created by” or other things taking up UI real estate in that location.

ps. I note Data Panel is not available as a tag.

I think this makes sense. I'd like hear from more users about what other kind of infromation would be useful here.

Thanks,

I would also like that information to be pulled up to A360 as well.

Somewhat related - An easy way to see comments on a part, without having to open it.

In the collaboration videos you demonstrate using comments to provide information on communicating changes that are required for a part. However, unless you have actioned from a notification directly there is no easy way to see what are effectively tasks (comments) required to finish a part.

If these 'task' comments could be shown when selecting a part it would make it easier to determine the completion state of a part.

Maybe a flag to mark a finished design?
