I have a need to know the correct hole size when using a specific drill and call that out in my model.
A .125 in (1/8) drill with shavings makes a hole from .127 to .129. dia. +.002 to +.003 larger in dia.
I believe there should be a collapsable drill size- actual hole size table along with the hole function to
help designers with hole callouts and manufacturing instructions.
it is very possible and easy to callout a hole size that can't easily be drilled and this creates extra steps and operations. think reamer or special drill
the Machinery Handbook or another resource, I think, should have these actual drilled hole sizes
Thanks,
John
