Click to edit another dimension should cancel edit of first edit

If I click on an existing dimension, it jumps to edit mode for that dimension.

If, without finishing that dimension, I click on another it does nothing.

I think it should stop editing the first dimension and start editing the next.

I would rather it work the same way as other software where if you click a different dimension while creating a new one, it sets the new dimension equal to the clicked on dimension.

In fact, after doing some work in Fusion the other day, I was going to come on here and post that as an enhancement request.

@kellings, that's interesting. Are you thinking about something like Excel where you can build an equation by typing '=' and then clicking on cell A1? I guess in Excel there are both modes. That's the default, but then you can press ESC and click on another cell to edit that other cell. I suppose this is one where Autodesk should do some serious user testing.

codefoster,

Thank you for your idea.  This idea is getting archived due to lack of votes and the fact that we changed the behavior.  When you are editing a dimension and you select another dimension it references the selected dimensions value as @kellings describes.

Cheers,
