I would love to have the ability to create a simple sketch while in CAM. This would allow me to create a line or point needed only for the CAM operations, without having to exit manufacturing, then create sketch, then go back to manufacturing and generate all my tool paths again (or keep them protected).
The sketch does not have to be tied to the timeline in the design space, as it's only related to cam. This would allow me to move faster and have more freedom withing the cam space.
I believe an ideal place for this option would be directly inside the "geometry" tab when creating a new operation. Have a selection box option to "Draw Line &/or Project". The create your desired sketch, then select the sketch you just created as the geometry for the cut. The sketch is only tied to that operation.
