CAM - Duplicate Toolpaths on a Grid

CAM - Duplicate Toolpaths on a Grid

There's no way to add additional instances of a part, except to use the built in Multiple Work Coordinate Offset feature, which doesn't work with all Post Processors, and only handles a single axis.

We need an easy way to duplicate our toolpaths over a 4 x 4 grid with 6" spacing.Without this feature, the time saved by Fusion's excellent integrated CAM methods is lost in trying to set everything up on a grid.

Also, add "CAM" to idea labels please.

This is definitely a planned feature for Fusion.  It just hasn't been implemented yet.

Like CJ pointed out, supportting nesting is definitely on our radar. As of today, you can either dupicate the setup or select all part instances in one operation to achieve a similar result. However, it would only handle single axis.

Any idea when tool path patterns will be added?  Just curious.

I would also like to know. I suspect it's a pretty easy thing to impliment (in the grand scope of things), and it will help you get CNC job shops on your side. Especially those doing CNC router work which a lot of the Maker community seems to be into. I purchased an annual subscription today with the hope that you will get to this soon. Until you can, we'll keep using MasterCAM and SolidEdge while I learn how to use Fusion better.

Bonus points if you can also do nesting of odd shaped items instead of just copying onto a grid.

Yes - support for nesting of multiple profiles and part-in-part nesting with part and sheet offsets and orientation constraints would be great.  It seems like this thread is mainly focused on duplicate part layouts/nesting - I'm going to start a new one focused specifically on complex nesting
