When navigating long tree view structures it is helpful to use arrow keys → ↓ ↑ ←
I also like to use those in combination with ctrl + shift, and often use spacebar to select. These are pretty typical Windows environment features, I am not sure how pervasive they are on Mac's. Please consider key binding arrow keys and others described in the Browser Datacontext. Using Left arrow goes up the tree parent. Right dives down into a tree.
