better offset / shelling ability

where Alias simply offsets (shells) Fusion simply gives up.

I would have rather expetced a solid modeler doing it better.

this seems to me that like with other tools (like loft) the surfacing commands in Fusion often fell pretty short compared to what I can do in Alias. I have less controll less design ability and like in this case it even fails to work.

This body is a patch with no thickness. Judging from your screenshots, it looks like you want to add tickness to it? The way to do that would be to use the ticken command. Be mindful that your patch is open with a small hole, and there may be tolerance issues if you want the patch to ticken correctly.

not always do you need or want solid offsets but just a somple shell offset.
