Batch translate, conversion from Fusion 360 to multiple CAD formats

I am looking for a batch translator that will allow me to take a directory of exported files from Autodesk Fusion 360 and translate (convert) them in a batch process to other CAD formats.

dxf and dwg

Autodesk Inventor Files (*.ipt, *.iam)

CATIA V5 Files (*.CATProduct, *.CATPart) DXF Files (*.dxf) FBX (*.fbx) IGES (*ige, *iges, *igs) NX (*prt) OBJ (*.obj) Parasolid Binary Files (*.x_b) Parasolid Text Files (*.x_t) Pro/ENGINEER and Creo Parametric Files (*.asm, *.prt) Pro/ENGINEER Granite Files (*.g) Pro/ENGINEER Neutral Files(*.neu) Rhino Files (*.3dm) SAT/SMT Files (*.sab, *.sat, *.smb, *.smt) SolidWorks Files (*.prt, *.asm, *.sldprt, *.sldasm) STEP Files (*.ste, *.step, *.step STL Files (*.stl)

We want to support as many customers as possible on our website and they are using different programs for architectural drawings.

My goal is to provide architects with the 2-D files they are accustomed to using and also provide 3-D solid model parts for the next generation of architects who will be creating virtual reality walk throughs on vacant lots for their clients.

Our company has a current library consisting of over 600 products and it is growing every day. This is far too many files to convert one at a time into multiple formats.

As more companies are posting their products online for use by designers and engineers, the need for batch translating will keep expanding as multiple software versions and a growing list of companies need to export their CAD data.

Thank you for any help you and your team can offer.

Hi,

Have you considered using Autodesk Forge - https://forge.autodesk.com - Using this API you can automate and convert ipt/iam files on the go using Design Automation for Inventor. The Forge Data Management API will also help to access online content from A360/BIM360 docs/... For Fusion 360 files, you can also use the Model Derivative API which might be simpler has this API can convert directly F3d to DWG. See the translation map here: https://forge.autodesk.com/en/docs/model-derivative/v2/developers_guide/supported-translations/

It’s free to get started:
https://forge.autodesk.com/developer/start-now/signup

We have step-by-step tutorials for the main services:
http://learnforge.autodesk.io/#/

We also got samples on

https://github.com/Autodesk-Forge?tabs=repositories

and severals lectures were made at AU and were recorded.

Hope that helps,

Cyrille

Thanks Cyrille. I will look into it over the next few days. I haven't done any coding for a few years so it's going to take a little time to get back up to speed.
