It would be great if one could choose a background backplate .jpg or .png image (i.e. that would not move when moving the camera) in the Render, Model, etc. environments.
This functionality is particularly important to me as I am trying to build a dataset of images depicting instances of articulated CAD models, the instances' pose and their position in the images' coordinate system. In order to create this I would need to interactively align the CAD model with its depiction in the image (requiring a background backplate image so the image would not move if I were to change the scale of the CAD model by zooming in/out) and record the resulting pose and position.
