Assembly - edit original component placement position

Assembly - edit original component placement position

When you place a component, you can position a component, but when you want to move that coponent afterwards, you must use a 'capture position', even when you want to change it's initial position.

Is there a proper reason why we shouldn't be able to edit the initial position?

An 'edit feature' that let's you reposition the component, sitting in the RMB-menu of the timeline icon.

This would remove a whole lot of "capture position"s out of my timeline!

Please someone tell me I just overlooked an already implemented feature...

How did you position it to start with? If you used a joint you can edit the joint by right clicking it in the timeline. You'd need to be careful if you have any projected references in any of the components sketches though.

So I started using the joint system and it helps. I can't say I'm that thrilled about the feature. It lacks 2 Degrees of Rotation to set the component. Making it an unnecessary hassle.

I really prefer the placement system of the traditional systems (e.g. PTC Creo)
