I am interested in performing stress studies on parts made with additive manufacturing. I suggest adding materials typically used in additive manufacturing to the list of study materials.
This is the second time I've heard someone ask about this in the past two weeks. (Are you at Carnegie Mellon? Maybe we spoke.) Being able to simulate 3d printed parts would be an extremely powerful tool for Fusion to have, but it would be very hard to implement since 3d printed parts do not have uniform density. Nearly every commonly adjusted 3d printer setting would need to be considered: layer height, number of shells, infill density, infill pattern, and nozzle temp.
Another cool feature (and maybe this would also solve your problem) would be to apply loads and constraints to a 3d modeled part and have Fusion (or Print Studio) adjust the density of infill through the part based on the required strength.
