Add many standard rigid joints at once - NOT the same as "Rigid Group"

Rigid Group provides a great shortcut to keeping X number of components stuck together, but the implementation creates the joints in a different way than creating one rigid joint does.

As-Built Rigid Joints also give us a great shortcut, eliminating the need to specify many things as we create the joint.

BUT, both Rigid Group and As-Built Rigid are DIFFERENT KIND OF JOINTS than a standard Rigid Joint.

They do NOT behave the same way.

 

A VERY important difference is the way a component behaves when some other component it is joined to changes shape.

 

EG's:

Component1 is manually Joint>Rigid'd to Component2 - Change Component2's size and Component1 moves.

Component1 is AsBuilt>Rigid'd to Component2 - Change Component2's size parameter and Component1 does not move.

Component1 is RigidGroup'd to Component2 - Change Component2's size parameter and Component1 does not move.

 

So, the Rigid Group shortcut method and the As-Built>Rigid short method both fail to cause proper movement of components.

To set up a joint that allows proper location adjustment, it MUST be made one at a time.

 

In assemblies with large numbers of components this presents a huge amount of work to add the appropriate joints.

Seriously, today I will need to create 164 individual joints, one at a time, to allow my components to move appropriately when a parameter is changed. All of these joints are on the same plane, between components that all end on that plane (they all touch at the same plane).

This is nuts that to get the motion I have to do all the joints one at a time.

 

 

Please provide a new tool that allows the creation of many standard-type rigid joints in one operation.

(Select all to be one side of rigid joint, select all to be second side of rigid joint, click 'do it'. Fusion looks at the components, figures where they are touching, and creates a normal rigid joint at every contact face. A Rigid Group but with standard joints) 

 

This could just become an option if you choose Rigid Group, or be a separate 'Mass Join' action.
