When Components are assigned a joint there should be an option to make the component and it's associated bodies an actual solid object - where other solid objects can not splice into them. This could be an option for all components and bodies separate from joints as well - which would then allow joints to respond as they would in real life.
Example: I create a hinge with two component bodies. Attach a rotation joint to both of the components. When I move the hinge in Fusion 360 to simulate it's movement in real life, the two bodies will not inter-splice with each other and act as actual solid objects that stop each other from passing through. Any other joint created will be restricted by any body interacting with it's associated components.
There could be a simple check box available for each body you create that says: "Intersecting Allowed" - or something like this.
This will not remove joint limits options because you can choose to allow intersecting bodies, but it would allow the creation of moving components to be much more fluid!
This is a must have next step for Fusion 360 design.
Thanks!
