I would like the ability to switch sketch axis by cycling through XYZ with the TAB key while sketching. This would make ad-hoc piping or 3d sketching/planes really quick and straight forward.
not only practical it is more or less a must have. take a look at Alias for example there left mouse middle mouse and right mouse button allow you to sketch rotate and move along x y z.
Thanks for the idea, Smeggy. This is in fact something that we are already looking into, so I would have to say that it is practical! I’ve also noticed increasing comments and questions on the forums about this topic. I’ll keep you posted on what the team’s plans are for this moving forward.
I think the 3D needs a lot of help. I really think there needs to be a 2D sketch and a 3D sketch like solidworks and inventor have, although inventor doesn't seem to have near the capabiliy I would expect either. Arcs, splines and all other sketch features should not only be available in 3d but as suggested should be able to be moved and edited in full 3D based on your view angle.
Yep, agree with this request.....just adding in a toggle key to say "don't sketch on selected plane, go somewhere else"...go upwards oe downwards in 3D space would be helpful.
