Please integrate 3d Dimensions that can be placed in referance to faces and points in 3D space, Take a look At Solid EDGE, from Siemens. AWESOME SOFTWARE

This is needed to help define & EDIT 3D sketches.

Having this functionality would be a great benefit to us. Also, being able to constrain two points in one sketch but at different heights. Basically, instead of horizontal/vertical, have align x/y/z.

Dear Community:

I posted a question about this "Dimensioning and labeling the ***3-D*** model" https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/design-validate-document/dimensioning-and-labeling-the-3-d-model/m-p/... and was referred here.  Please do implement 3-D dimensions and labels or text annotations. I would ask developers to take a look at this:

Apparently this is in inventor fusion; useful dimensions that do not take away from communicating the design are already available in inventor fusion.  So, I think the folks right down the hall might have all the code you need to implement this right away!

Please implement 3-D labels and dimensions.  I put in a rendering of a very complex model, carefully parametrically designed, into a proposal, and some moron reader "dinged" my proposal claiming that I had "only" put in an artistic rendering, not a "real" developed design, because there were ***no dimensions on it***.  So, it is clear that people do not take the 3-D models seriously without the dimensions.  It is very important that you implement this.  Please.

Also, please add 3-D labels.  The ability to label one thingy "bracket" and another "leg" is really really helpful in making people understand your work.

Thanks,

Very much +1000 on this.  I find the amount of effort required to locate sketch geometry/3D features to relate to precise points of features in other planes/axes.

+1 for this, the do not capture history is already great if you introduce this ability it will make it perfect for fast prototyping 🙂
