2D cutting CAM ideas

2D cutting CAM ideas

Enhancement request:

When selecting 2D cutting. Fusion CAM would automatically read the material type and thickness that is assigned to the model and use this data to include in post processing.

During setup, when you select laser tool for example, I would like a section that you can pick the assist gas you are using (oxygen, nitrogen, shop air). If fusion doesn't automatically read the info in the model have the ability to set the material (steel, stainless steel, aluminum, etc).

During setup for path I would also like the ability to change the type of cutting/etching for geometry. Right now Fusion selects all geometry as a cut with the same cutting or etching. I would like the ability to designate certain geometry to adjust the cut quality (example holes cut slower for a better cut), geometry for etching etc.

Could we also get the ability to manually change the cutting path of geometry on a part. Fusion does a good job of automatically selecting the path. I would like the ability to adjust the path in case there is a better optimal way of cutting.

Another idea is if we could show sketches in the model and then have the ability to post the geometry from some of the sketch features. I sometimes need to make kerf width cuts on a part. The optimal way to accomplish this is to have a single line drawn and designate this as a cut.

Corner loops. To keep sharp corners some of the better CAM software allows you to loop the corners so that the points stay sharp. Below is a picture of what I am talking about.

I reference laser here but this would also work with plasma. The cutting speed, material, and material thickness along with corner loops and kerf width cuts would work for water jet.
