2D Chamfer tool path, add multiple depths or passes

If your putting a chamfer in steel with a smaller tool you can't take it all off in one wack.

It would be nice if there was a multiple pass or depth option in the 2D chamfer tool path.

YES .... I also was going to submit this but i am glad to see that someone else has the same thought here.....

I am putting some relatively large "Eyebolt" threaded holes into some large P-20 steel blocks (112.0 x 54.0 x 10.0 thick - 17,000 lbs... NICE ! )... The thread is a 2.00-4.5-NC feature and the chamfers are about .080-.100" across the flat.... 1 pass with a single insert carbide cutter would work but would be tough and hard on the tooling.... If you gave us the option to step it down in the Spindle axis direction then it would allow me to make the chamfer much easier and cleaner... I would figure you could pull some code from your other 2.5D milling functions such as "Contour" and put it into the chamfer routine.... Same sort of idea as the "Multiple Depth" options ....

Looking forward to seeing this in the next update ! .... LOL ...

Keep up the great work !

Regards, Brian.

Yes please! Trying to put a 1/2" chamfer on hardwood and would love multiple passes. Doing workarounds with contour but it's not ideal.

Hmmmm....Why hasn't this caught on yet?  I've been playing with Fusion 360 for less than 24 hours total and even I have already found the chamfering process to be lacking.  WE NEED MULTI DEPTH!!!  Not all of us are cutting foam and MDF.

This is an old thread, but I was looking for a way to do this and found it is straightforward if you use a tapered mill as the tool and then a 2D contour, which allows you to put in multiple steps. I cut a 5mm wide chamfer in polycarbonate 1mm at a time with no issues.

Thanks for the reply. ... I will try that method tonight but it makes
sense that it would work out. ....

Luv this F360 world. ...
