Hello,

As the Today's update bring us the ability to export in USDZ format, I was wondering if it could be possible to get a little more control on the mesh generated. My first try generate a model with a little few polygons with a very bad normal giving some artefact on the shape. And having a preview window like we have to send to 3D print and prepare stl files could be valuable.

On the other hand, as Fusion is able to handle finished product, we may need sooner or later more sophisticated option to manage textures like real UV unwrap feature even if we need to go through a meshes version of the model.

(something like in the simulation process).

Another suggestion could be to add USDZ file format in the list of downloadable format in Fusion Team as well

You mean about UV Unwrap and Mesh version?

Hello,

To go a little further, I mean that as it is done for Simulation we should be able to decline in render workbench a simplified version of the model, by converting as mesh some faces of the product in order to be able to sew and unwrapped then in order to generate clean comprehensive UV textures.

this could be used for applying color/bump or normal textures for rendering and USDZ model generation.

this meshed model could be used also in manufacturing (FDM or CNC) if the path tracer (slicer) would be able to take the bump/normal mal into account to distort the slice and generate a Displaced surface on the go.

It looks like some independant Slicers are beginning to work on this... but as STL don't manage UVs at all, they only use regular projection mapping would could not be accurate in all the cases.

Let me know.
