Wrap sketch on complex or many surfaces

hello all,

i need to "project"/"wrap" a sketch (honeycomb texture for exemple!!) all around my parts (square with fillets, or extruded slot or other like this) !

whats the best way to do this?

on solidworks i flat the surface, make my sketch on the flat surface and just wrap this sketch on the surface !!

thanks by advance

Wrap can be done in the CAM environment; however in Fusion there isn't a true wrap function when projecting sketches to a surface. Currently, this is a feature enhancement that needs to be implemented. You can use the sketch project to surface command, but the options are closest point or along a vector (not wrap). The project to surface command is in the Sketch > Project/Include menu.

You may be able to do something with sheetmetal if it is a cylindrical surface.

I hope that helps!

Thanks,

Could you share a picture of what you're trying to model?

You can do it in sheet metal to make the shape to start with you just sketch it how it look from the bottom, (the same way a cylinder is done) then you just need to cut a section of it out 1 mm is enough then put a small flange each side the the gap so it looks like your picture.

Then you can apply your surfaces to it unfolded, a sketch would be fine, just rember patterning is a big hog on fusion a pattern in cam would be the better way to go onces you have it looking good then you do your flat pattern so you can do the cam on it.

Example attached and have a look at Nathan's link there good stuff in there.

If you wont to know what shape that tecture can be applied to what is the shapes you wont them attached too examples will be needed, that shape in the image I have almost completely reverse engineered it in sheet metal hole and all.

Somethings in fusion it is not known what can be done until someone tries, If you can give shape example there are enough outside of the box dudes and dudettes that will try it for you for fun.
