Using Extrude in Sculpt Mode and Trim in Patch Mode - Guitar Neck

Hello Everyone, it's been a while since I've posted on the forum. I've run into an issue trying to perform an extrude function in sculpt and then using trim in patch mode. I've done this before and didn't have any problems but now can't get this work. What I'm trying to do is extrude two edges that are the shape of the headstock in Sculpt and then use these extruded edges in Patch to trim off the excess headstock material so I wind up with the final headstock shape. The problem seems to be occurring when I try to pick the two edges to extrude. I can only pick one at a time and this creates two bodies in Sculpt where I should really have only one. When I go into the Patch mode I can only pick one body at a time and can't trim off the excess material. I've been hacking away at this for hours and can't figure out what may be wrong with my model or sketch that's causing this. I've attached my file and would appreciate any help.

Thanks.

your cutting profile curves aren't coincident at the center, (which is why the dot is white).  zoom way in and you'll be able to see.

Thanks kindly laughing creek. Sometimes you just can't see the forest from the trees. That was a problem I thought I had resolved on a previous sketch. I imported the original incorrect sketch by accident and wasn't thinking.

Best Regards.
