Unrecoverable exit code from extractor: -1073741831

Hello,

I have been having major issues with my fusion 360 software, maybe anyone is able to help as the email troubleshooting just isn't giving any results. I have a file on fusion 360 that results me in being unable to either save the file or see it at all on any other viewers. Upon clicking the file in the data tabs i get a error message stating " The file you are trying to open is currently being saved by <USERNAME>. Do you want to open a previous version of it instead?". Upon pressing yes I get a error message stating "The file you are trying to open is currently being saved by <USERNAME>. Do you want to open a previous version of it instead?." Even when I go into my offline work space I have even more issues. I'm basically done working on the file but fusion wont let me export. I get a file name in my quick access in windows file explorer but upon clicking on it there is no file to be found. All at this point I want to do is export various bodies in .stl format and after saving there is not file at all. In addition on A360 I'm getting a error message that is in the subject above. If someone could please shed some light on the topic I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you,

Gavin Acquaviva

Hi @GavinAcquaviva,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 Community!

I am sorry to hear that this is happening to you! I tried to upload that file on my computer and it is taking a long time (it is still uploading after 10 min), so I suspect something might have happened to the file. Just to check - can you save the file now (perhaps this will trigger it out of the "saving" state that it is in). In the meantime, can you please send me your diagnostic log files to james.youmatz@autodesk.com. To collect these, in Fusion, navigate to the help menu (top-right corner of Fusion 360) and then select Diagnostic Log Files.

Couple quick questions - are you the only user that has access to edit this file or are there others shared in the project? Also, what is the current version number and file name of the model you are working on?

Thanks,

Thank you for your help as my first thing to say. Okay so I'm unable to even open the document. When I select yes from the dialogue box I get the message in my first post. When I select No then I get a message telling me the file is still being saved. Unless you tell me otherwise I have no way to save the file if I can't get into it. As for your request I'm on version 32 and the only other machine that is sharing this document is my laptop. The file name that is on fusion is "mITX Case Frame and Sides." Also if possible could you explain why I am unable to export bodies as a stl even when I can access the file offline.

Thank you,

Hi @GavinAcquaviva,

Glad I can help! I took a peek at that log file and I see that Version 32 is reflected from the cloud and that the local version on your computer is 10, so there is a mismatch there. Was your laptop the last computer you used to save the file or the computer you grabbed the diagnostic log files from? Also, you said working offline doesn't help the issue either?

Thanks,

The last computer I worked on was the one I am currently on (the one that I grabbed the diagnostic file from (my desktop)). I very rarely work on my laptop for this type of stuff but my most recent updates were done on my desktop. Working offline lets me just open the file and edit it, but saving it since I have other files within that file will result in the links being lost. Yes, I can go in and edit offline but my main concern is simply exporting bodies as a stl, all the main work was done and that's really all that's left but it's not allowing me to do so.

Thank you,

Hi Gavin,

I took a look at what is happening here and it appears the issue tracks back to a file upload which failed back in late June. There is a version of the component 'backplane' which is being used by your design (via the Motherboard Tray sub-assembly) but did not get uploaded to the server.

We can potentially fix this in a couple of ways, if you might have created the latest version of 'backplane' on another computer and we can obtain a copy of it, then it can be uploaded and you will have the latest data. The alternative would be for us to slightly modify the sub-assembly to use a prior version of this component. Or, if you can recall the changes that were made to 'backplane', you could edit v4 of it, recreate the changes, and then we can modify the sub-assembly to use the new version.

Let me know the path you would like to take to fix this, either through the forums, a private message, or at my email - matt.pooley@autodesk.com

Okay so quite honestly I dont even need that component anymore. I already have that component printed out and really its just there for a reference. If there's a way to modify the file to just remove that component that would be the best course of action in my opinion. I'm not the greatest at doing all this so if there's steps to doing such I'll do my best to try to solve this problem.

Hi Gavin,

I'm going to have to hand-edit a few things to repair this, the easiest way would be if you could temporarily invite me (matt.pooley@autodesk.com) into the project that holds the relevant data. I can then make modifications directly on the items using the granted permissions. The alternative would be to organize server side changes, this would take a little longer to pull together since it requires following some significant auditing / security policies.

I'll start pulling the necessary information together and then execute depending on your preference.

Regards,

Matt.

Okay I just sent the project information invite. If you need me to do anything on my end I would be more than happy to assist with it all.

I know I could have private messaged you this but I thought it would be good to let everyone know that you really saved me here. I had literally no clue what to do and me, being a 17 year old trying to work on stuff that in my opinion others can't and then realizing months of work and 33 versions of a single file lost that I already had mostly 3D printed and would now had to reprint would be a lot of money lost, well I wasn't going to be able to recreate that for a long time. Thank you Matt! I really appreciate all the work you have put into this and if anything else comes up I know where to go.

Hi Gavin,

Thank you for the great feedback, it's wonderful to be able to help, though we'd prefer it if everything worked perfectly in the first place. I have left your project now, but am definitely available to help if you encounter any more issues.

Regards,

Matt.
