Trying to create a hole pattern on a circular part a specified distance from circumference

Hello,

Total cad/cam new guy here.  I'm trying to create 2 holes 1.25" down from the circumference of a circle spaced 50mm apart.  Sorry for the mixed units.  I've tried creating patterns, sketching the circles and using the hole function, and I'm totally lost on this.  I'm attaching the .f3d of the part.

See Attached.  Edit as needed.

BTW - Your Sketch4 and 5 are not fully defined?

Thanks for the quick response.

When I opened your file, the holes were spaced 2.75" apart and .95" down from the top.  The outer diameter of the circle I have set up so I can change it since I'm planning on making multiple sizes of this item.

is there any way to make it so those holes are located where I need them and stay the same distance from the outer diameter when I resize it?

Also, I haven't figured out the constraints thing properly yet.  I tried the refine constraint command by right clicking the sketches and it doesn't seem to properly constrain it.

TIA for all the help!

According to your required dimensions, there are two possible solutions, depending on how you read your requirements.  I demonstrated each in my Screencast.  At the very least, it will give you a basis to select the one you desire.  Please note, as shown, if you project the OD of the component with linking on, the hole location will update as the OD changes size.  Model is attached.

Hi.

Yes the holes will stay at the same distance according to the sketch that was whispered 🙂

Look at this picture, sketches without padlocks are under-defined.

I constrained these two so you can see how to constrain them.

Awesome, thank both of you guys so much!

John, you were right, I failed to specify that the holes would be located 1.25" down from a line drawn between them.  Your second case was right on the money, I've got it all set up now.  I can now modify the parameter for the OD and have them stay located where I need them.

Lannart, thanks for the tip! I'll work on my knowledge of constraints and get them all set.

Thank you guys so much!
