Thrust Bearing Joint question

I am looking to assemble a thrust bearing (.0781" rollers) to be flat/flush against a surface.  How do I set the 'bottom' of the rollers to be jointed to the flat machine surface cented to the shaft?  I inserted a picture showing the two components.  I did not draw the bearing, I downloaded the step file from the manufacturer.

it would be easier to show you with your model, you might want to attach it.

you want to join the centers of the 2 circular fases that will be in contact.

-while in the joint command, hover over the a faces till you see the center hash mark appear.

-press and hold the ctrl key, then select the center mark.

-repeat for other component.

I may not have explained it well, and the question might be so easy that I am overthinking it (still new to assembly).  I am looking to 'joint' from the bottom of the rollers to the flat surface of the part (while centered around the shaft).  My main design intent is the rollers use the flat surface as the 'point of contact'.

@Anonymous - you have run into one of the bigger limitations in Fusion joints - the lack of a "tangent" relationship in Fusion.  We are working on this on a couple of fronts:  1) the ability to create a Joint Origin at a point that is tangent to a surface, parallel to a plane and 2) a proper "tangent joint" that would allow two components to declare a tangent relationship that can move (to allow a CAM follower type mechanism).

 

In the meantime, you will have to work around it, unfortunately.  In this case you can get away with a fixed offset (since the bearings are cylindrical) to some plane in the bearing.  Alternatively, you can insert some geometry (usually people create a sketch) that adds some geometry that you can use for the joint.

You calculate the offset, you know the diameter / radius of the roller, 

you can find the height of the lower cage face, offset the faces by the air gap distance in the joint dialogue.

 

Might help.
