First time posting to this forum, so apologies if this has been posted before, but I couldn't find an exact match after a quick search.
I have a MakerBot mini v5, which many folks know is a small print area. I am printing a new robot for class and unfortunately the chassis of the bot is too large for the print volume. I am attempting to splice the model across one of the faces in a jig-saw pattern for stronger reconstruction.
I tried creating a line and using the slice, however it slices along the incorrect plane, which does not give me the jig saw pattern. Are there any tutorials out there that showcase how to split a body into multiple parts with a drawn line across the axis you want? I imported the body from a .stl. The model can be found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:597267/#files it is chassis2.stl.

This is very strange. I wonder is there is some Fusion installation/upgrade issue going on on your machine.
Not sure what to advise at this point. As you can see in the screencast I do have the mesh button and as Fusion 360 is a Cloud software that updates automatically under normal circiumstance we all have the same version.

Your attached image shows that you are in Sculpt workspace. The Mesh commands are available in either Model or Patch workspaces, not in the Sculpt workspace. So please switch your workspace to Model and you should be able to access that command.

EDIT: Looks like @gautham_kattethota beat me to it!
Not a problem! I think the issue here is that he is in the Sculpt environment. Change back over to the Model environment and you will then see the option for Modify --> Mesh and then you can convert to a BRep. Also, I went ahead and tried it on your stl file that you included and it works! Only thing is that it comes out as all surface patches so it looks like there is a hole in the mesh (seen in screenshot below)
