Project help: Extruding Projected Sketch

Hello all,

I'm trying to extrude a design from a curved surface (shown in blue on the images below).

I know what I should do is project the sketch, split the surface, and then press/pull to emboss. However, I'm hitting a few issues.
1: I'm getting an error that the projection failed (due to one point?), but I cannot find that point when I try to inspect the error.
2: I can split the surface with smaller parts-- the inside of the circle, the inner sections of the petals-- but not all in one go. I shouldn't have to do this split line by line, right?

Any thoughts?

Problems should be in "yellow" but I cannot find them?Problems should be in "yellow" but I cannot find them?IMG_6790.JPGThe blue part is what I'd like to extrude from the curved surfaceThe blue part is what I'd like to extrude from the curved surface

File>Export and then Attach your *.f3d file here.

Are you on a Mac or are you on a Windows machine?

If Windows OS, you can use the built-in Windows Snipping Tool to grab screen capture images rather than using phone camera. (much better resolution)

I was having internet connectivity issues on the PC where I had the file this morning, so I can send along the file & better screenshots (hopefully) later today!

I'm running Windows 10.

Don't need additional screen shots - only the *.f3d file.

I suspect that this will have an easy solution.

I have to wonder if you really want an Extrude, or do you really want a Thicken.

Anyhow, both possible "solutions" can be demonstrated with the actual file.

If you DO in fact want an Extrude, which of course will have vertical sides regardless of the surface it rises from, then you can just Extrude>From Object.... You don't have to project and split anything.

And in fact, if you DO want to split the face of the bowl, you don't have to Project your sketch onto it first. You can split the bowl face directly with the sketch elements....

Yes, this is what I'm trying to do-- I'll give it a shot when I'm back in front of that computer!
