Parameters no longer remembered when creating sketch

When creating a rectangle in a sketch, if I enter parameters (e.g. "x" and "y") for the two sides, the rectangle is resized correctly, but then when I finish the rectangle (by clicking the mouse or pressing "enter"), the dimensions that are created are just values (e.g. "25"), not parameters (e.g. "x"). If I double-click the dimension, I can change it back to a parameter, but I'm positive that in the past it would keep the parameter when creating the rectangle. I asked a friend to try and he says his dimensions appear as "fx: 25" instead of "25" when creating a rectangle this way.

I'm on MacOS, and have been using F360 for a couple years and just started running into this issue this week. Things I've tried: "Restore defaults" in the settings window; quitting and restarting; rebooting Mac; uninstalling and reinstalling F360 (v2.0.12157).

Quick video showing this is below. All I do in the video is press "r", click origin, drag rectangle, type "y" and "enter", press tab, press "x" and "enter", then "enter" again to finish the rectangle. X and Y dimensions get converted to values instead of staying as formulas.

Thanks for any tips! Did some searching here and via Google and couldn't find any reference to this.

Here is another Forum post about the same issue and an acknowledgement that it is being looked at by the Fusion 360 staff.
