Lofting and the rails not touching all of the profiles

Hi --

I'm trying to use patch mode to loft two sketch profiles together using rails but I always get the error that my rail is not touching all of the profiles.

How do I ensure that the sketch for the rail touches the other two?

Let's just take the simple case of two circles on two parallel planes.  When I try to loft them with a rail, I get the error, even though I think the spline that connects the circles is touching both circles.   How do I ensure that it touches both?

Thanks

The sketches that contain the profiles, (circles) in the example, have to be projected into the rail sketches.

When creating the rail sketch, "Project > Intersect" each circle, and you will get a red dot, where the circle passes through the rail sketch.

Snap connect the rails to the circle's red dots, has to be this way, trying to connect any other way usually results with the error message you are getting.

I have found that using Splines for the rails helps too.

Hope that gets you going

Browny.
