Is there and equivalent in Fusion 360 to SketchUp’s guide lines?

I am looking for a way to add dimensional lines to assist in placing objecting in my sketch.

Is there and equivalent in Fusion 360 to SketchUp’s guide lines?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

also, you can use sketches for similar purposes Create line and object within sketches, right mouse button over them and convert to guides.  Bonus: sketches can be used to anchor joints.

So I'm still curious.

So in SketchUp you have "dedicated" guides that can be drawn via coordinates from a designated position.  You can copy them and you can lock them.

My main issue with the construction lines is that they can still be deleted via selection or using the trim command.  What exactly does the "fix" command do if it doesn't protect them from being cut, or deleted? The only thing I've noticed that happens with construction lines is that they don't interfere with the creation of "divisions" of space - meaning you can't extrude the area that may be divided by the construction line, whereas regular lines do.  Additionally, construction lines, even when fixed, still interfere with overlapping lines which becomes very annoying - especially when you use trim often.

Is there something I'm missing with construction lines?  Or is this simply all there is in Fusion when it comes to things as close to guides as possible?  I find planes to be very useful but guides that can be locked (until unlocked) without having any kind of possibility of interference with them would be amazing.  One amazing thing with planes is that they act the same way as guides in SketchUp and it would be amazing to have this available in the sketch profile.

Is there a way to suggest this as an addition for fusion? Seems it would be an incredibly easy thing to add (Heh clearly I'm ignorant in programming).

lichtzeichenanlage,

Thanks for the link - it does add to the discussion, but unfortunately they really repeat the same thing - though they did add an answer about the positioning of the guide exactly where I want it.  Some reason I didn't think about using "sketch dimension" to place it where I want it.

The things I don't like about that way of positioning guides is that it unnecessarily (in my opinion) adds "more" things to the visual design than I want.  And I also know that you can delete the dimension after you got the position down but then I think that is an extra step.  Still however, the construction lines interfere with the sketches in ways that are counter-intuitive.

Again! Thanks for the link as it helped answer some questions!

@LogicSpeaks: I'm new to CAD, F360 and just used SketchUp once or twice years ago and so I can't completely understand what your are missing. Can you share one or some examples where you are missing guides? Sometimes it sounds to me that the solution is not just planes or construction lines but constrains and projections, tool

Sorry maybe I must have caused a misunderstanding.  My main problem is that construction lines can be interfered with whether they're fixed or not.  "Fixing" solves some of the problems but when you're using trim or even physically selecting lines - construction lines still get in the way whereas guides in SketchUp could be "locked" and therefore you can do nothing but "snap" to them.  I'm getting the feeling there is no way for me to lock construction lines in this way.
