I read posts and documents that talk about "Assembly" or "Assemblies" as if we all have a common understanding of the meaning of those terms, but I find no documentation to explain it. Am I simply having trouble searching for this in the documentation, or is it an established and well understood part of the common language used by Fusion 360 users? Is it a specific Fusion 360 term or a matter of common usage?

There is a whole chapter dedicated to models with more than one Component, there is a menu for them, and common term so no one gets confused about the model's content.

It’s called “assembly” in most other CAD packages. In Fusion 360 it’s a “component group”.

But most users still call it assembly.
