How to draw a funnel-like shape with offset to the one side ?

I want to draw a "laser driven" centerfinder project and I want to be able to pivot the laser diode on a hinge in the linse end of the diode.

The diode (in it's holder) will then be pivotting in a sort of funnel-like hole with straight sides in the main body, but ...

How do I draw such a funnel-like hole offset in one end ?

I don't really have a clue what you're asking for, not that many people will have diodes and laser laying around. Here's a guess at making a funnel, make 2 sketches on 2 different planes and use a loft between the 2 profiles. If you need more help we need more info.

I have made a little drawind here that maybe explains it a little better - see the attachment !

I want to draw that upside down funnel that the BLUE endmill will cut out in the red block of material when the endmill is tilted - let's say 30° to the one side - around the green axes laying on the upper surface of the red block.

I think I should be able to give you access to my drawing in the "cloud" - right ?

After you position the Blue, you can use the Combine tool to subtract (Cut) the Blue from the Red.

Yeah, that's what I'm after - but your setup is very different from mine, so I can't get what you're doing.

What's different, attach another screenshot. You should be able to make offset planes both sides of the part if it's not aligned with and other planes.

I'm a novice to Fusion360 so your video was WAY TOO fast for me, but I picked up some tricks so now I can can make it MUCH simpler.

I wonder if that "video-tool" is a part of Fusion ?

Thx - I did download ScreenCast and tried to make my learning from your screencast:

http://autode.sk/2dBv7OB

I am a little confused mow and then in the video but I think you can see the resulting shape it wrong compared with the analogy of an endmill making the cutout in the block

EDIT: How can I show the Screencast here NOT as a link but as a "video to click on" ??

Your screencast is set to private so I can't view it, you'll need to go to the screencast website and pick My Contributions then under Options select Edit and change to public. To have it displayed in your post click "My Screencasts" wait a few seconds for the to load then pick from the list.

Your sketch profiles should be perpendicular to the axis of the "cutter".

I think the easiest way to get what you're after might be to make a male part with the angle and fillets then use Combine on the modify menu to cut the male shape from the block.

@HughesTooling

Mark, it appears that you have cut off the end of the male part.

OK I've thought about this a bit more and come up with a way that's quite simple and creates nice clean geometry and's easy to edit. File's attached, if you want a different fillet rad just change the 5.0mm dimension in the sketch and extrusion to match the fillet.

Looks like that is a valid solution depending on the design intent.Valid Solution.png

That looks very right to me and in line with "the real world", I think.
