A screenshot says more than a thousand words. You will know what I'm trying to do. I'm using the helical gear generator from Ross Korsky, which is great. But how do I make a FITTING "vertical gear" (how do you call that gear in the screenshot?)
I tried to take a single tooth out of a generated gear and ended up positioning it manually, because no alignment tools seem to work because of the wildly curved surfaces. The distance between the tooth has to match the one in the original gear.
Or maybe there is a way to just roll a created the gear along the the circle path and create the intersection or something like that.
Any ideas?
I think a vertical version would be very useful in general.
