How can I make Fusion 360 automatically create slots where two flat planes overlap?

I have a hand sculpture created in Fusion that will be plasma cut in steel. It is comprised of many 2D pieces that overlap and create the 3D final hand format. I would like to have Fusion create halfway slots in the 2D pieces so that intersecting pieces would fit together. Is there a way to do this somewhat automatically? The body pieces are all separate right now, so if I have to combine them, please let me know how that would be done as well. Thanks.

Let me simplify the issue. If I have an intersected component

 

such as the two crossing elements below, I want Fusion to create two separate bodies which can be cut with an automatically created half-lap like the second picture. Can this be done, and how would I best proceed?

The 2nd image in your post shows the result. However you got there, that would be one way to do it.

I am not aware of any even semi-automatic way to do this outside perhaps writing a plugin in Python.

The second image was just me drawing what I wanted to happen in a simple environment. I could not do that with the complex hand since it would be a real challenge to estimate where the intersections really are.

Don't forget to add clearance to the slots so the parts will actually fit.  Can the plasma cutter make angled cuts on the pieces that don't fit at 90 degrees?  Will you be able to actually assemble it when you have pieces which mesh at different angles?
