Hi guys, ive been using autocad for quite some time now (4years). The work we do is very basic, aluminium fencing, gates and privacy screens etc. The company wants to move to fusion 360 for the g code aspect of it. My question would be is it even worth it? I need more time on fusion to obviously get quicker. But i cant figure out how to get things to snap to center lines. Example would be on cad i can highlight the box hit move and grab it from a point and move it to another point extremely easy. On fusion i can't, even after googling a way to make it like that. My other worry is will i have to make everything 3d before i can actually get my guy to route out the section? That to me is an extra step we really cant afford to be doing(its a tight industry every minute counts on profitability) https://100001.onl/ https://1921681254.mx/ . Like i said previously its super basic work putting 65×16 holes into 50x50 box section.

Any tips would be great. Thanks in advance.

Fusion 360 isn't Autocad. Obvious of course but initially, at least, your 4 years' use of Autocad will be "perhaps" a disadvantage! You can 2D Sketch and stay 2D but that is NOT the way Fusion 360 is built.....in fact complex 2D sketches are to be avoided. The Parametric nature of Fusion 360 would be a powerful ally for fences and screens for example my next-door neighbour does fences and I set this up on his Fusion 360 and he uses it all the time. I guess Autcad can do the same?..I don't know. Why not post a quick example of a task that you think Fusion 360 may be more suitable than the way you work it now?Screenshot 2023-06-01 123355.jpg
