Fusion 360 Cloud Credits

Couldn't find explicit answers to the following questions in the existing threads:

1. For hobbyist use of Fusion 360, the system states there are unlimited cloud credits but a max of 16 that can be used per request.  Is there a way to do higher level cloud rendering (i.e. rendering that requires more than 16 credits) under this license?

2. With $300 annual subscription for Fusion 360 purchased as an individual can I buy cloud credits?  What is the max size render (in terms of cloud credits) that I could then run?

Thanks!

1) Under the hobbyist license you are limited to 16 credits in a single request. This allows you to make the 4k by 4k still images or multiframe jobs of smaller sizes. We do this to limit our expense in running the service and to keep wait times manageable for the students and hobbyists.

2) Under an annual subscription you are free to purchase cloud credits and your jobs run on dedicated queues with higher throughput. The maximum still image size is still 4k by 4k but we will relax that shortly. The removal of the 16 credit request limit only affects folks rendering multi-frame job types (turntables, animations, solar studies, illumination studies).

Hope this helps,

John

1. For hobbyist use of Fusion 360, the system states there are unlimited cloud credits but a max of 16 that can be used per request.  Is there a way to do higher level cloud rendering (i.e. rendering that requires more than 16 credits) under this license? No, the account admin will have to adjust credit usage.

2. With $300 annual subscription for Fusion 360 purchased as an individual can I buy cloud credits? Yes.

A Contract Manager or Software Coordinator can purchase cloud credits.

*To purchase through the Autodesk Store: Go to Autodesk Account(accounts.autodesk.com) and select “Get cloud credits” (from the Usage Report page) for the desired contract to purchase. This will take you through a guided purchase experience. Please note, only contract administrators or software coordinators are able to make these purchases.

What is the max size render (in terms of cloud credits) that I could then run? The answer varies.

“Variable usage rate” provides you options, such as quality and size, for how your task is run that will impacts the number of cloud credits required to complete a task when using a cloud service. For example, a large, high-quality rendering will have a higher usage rate than a small, low-quality image. Cloud credit requirements will depend on the service.

If you are a corporate user you may need to contact your account admin to get an account with cloud credits for you to use. Small images are always free, and we encourage you to play.

As you change settings for your A360 renderings you’ll see the “Required” value (on left of image, above) change.

As you would expect, more credits are required when you have more cameras, larger images, and higher quality settings. The screen shot above is from my university account, and that limits the “Max per request” to 16 credits. Educational accounts limit a single job size and are a lower priority in the queue; students and faculty may see longer delays in getting images completed than corporate accounts, particularly with very large images.

@Anonymous - Your reply is not quite correct. The account admin can't do anything to circumvent the 16 credit limit per request. The service enforces this limit for students and hobbyists.

John

Hello!

I'm using Fusion 360 for my university study period on engineering. I've registered a student version, but I don't have unlimited credits as I've seen in a description, just enough for a few simulations. Reinstalled Fusion 360 and re-loginned into my account. No luck.

Any tips?

Thank you!

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Fusion 360 Community!

Sorry for the delayed response! Couple quick things - can you email me the email address that you use to log into Fusion? I can check on our backend and see how many cloud credits you are assigned as well as your entitlement for Fusion.

Also, within Fusion can you go to the Help menu and select About. Next to Active Plan, what does it say? (Feel free to post a screenshot of this as well). I just want to verify that Fusion thinks you are on a student entitlement.

Thanks,

hi. @James.Youmatz

I am facing the same problem with cloud credits. as i am using student account. I was rendering a 4k render as a turntable . but software only allows me to use 16 credits but my turntable render is exceeding 200 credits as i need a higher resolution render for my project. is there any thing i can do to increase the cloud credits on student account.
