Extrude+Cut not working as expected

I'm doing an extrude/cut from a sketch and it's closing up 2 of 3 holes that I think should be open.  See screencast:

I attached the Fusion file.

Hi Scott,

I had a look at your file and I think the issue is with the extrude cut of the hole through the stud, combined with the pattern of the body.

The three extrude features of the hole was used to cut both the ring and the stud, but then only the stud was patterned around the axis, and so the ring is not getting cut in those other two places.

To fix the issue you are having, edit the circular pattern and choose to pattern features instead of just the body of the stud.

Select the three extrude features used to create the stud and then create the pattern.

Then roll back one step before the last extrude feature of your timeline, and do a combine of the four bodies.

Then roll back to the end and edit the final extrude and set the bodies to autoselect, and the result should be:

See file attached.

Hope that helps!

Thanks for your help.  I followed your instructions and got it working.  At first, I had a lot of trouble when editing the the pattern because I couldn't select the 3 extrude icons in the timeline, I could only select one.  So I tried unselecting the axis of rotation, and then I was able to select the three extrude icons in the timeline.

Glad it worked!

Yea, there are a few features in Fusion where you only get a chance to easily select multiples on the first go.

When you already have an axis or plane defined, you can usually hold down shift to select multiple items to perform the feature on.

Cheers,

Niels

To change selections and add/or remove items hold down the command key on mac, or cntrl on windows (be sure the correct seletion picker is active).

Ah right, it's the Command key.. Was speaking from memory — when I am used to the modifier keys I often don't even notice which button i'm pressing exactly! 😉

That didn't work with the axis or rotation already selected.  Seems like a bug to me.

Hello Scott,

To edit the Circular Pattern Features, after deleting the previous Features selection but leaving the Axis selected, select the first Feature without the CMD key and add the other Features with the CMD key.

Not sure if this is really a bug or by design.

Here is a little Screencast:

Best regards,
