Possible in free 360?: Manual entry/import G code?.

Spoiler

Newbie, [Fusion 360 free version 2.0.1708]   My machine use Mach 3 G code.

Many times I need to use specifically structured G code that implements variables and Subprograms, so that I can easily configure the g code for a certain number of repeated parts.

Is there a way to manualy Enter G code from scratch, without generating any paths from a drawing/model?  I already have G code that I have written by hand , not generated from a path or model.

Can Fusion 360  provide a simulation/visualization  of my existing G code that implements variables and Subprograms,   (perhaps I would also drawing the stock material first to view the material removal)

Thanks in advacne.

No Fusion can't simulate\backplot code you've written or added but give this backploter a go nc-corrector

Yes, you can do this, but the post will have to be set up to support the options. If you right-click your Setup you can go to New Operation and choose Manual NC. There are many options for this to insert a specific action independent of the regular toolpaths, so you can call a subprogram or use Pass Through to put straight code in without processing it at all.

I don't have any direct experience with setting up a post to utilize most of these options, but if you head over to https://camforum.autodesk.com/ there is a specific subforum just for Post Processing.

It looks like he want Fusion to simulate the manually entered gcode and I'm pretty sure Fusion can not back plot the manual gcode.

I got the impression he wanted both.

I hate that Fusion doesn't come with a proper G-code editor like HSMWorks/Xpress do. Frankly I'd try and get ahold of that editor (I believe it's a licensed and slightly customized version of Cimco Editor), however possible. It's the friendliest I've used so far.

the  G-code editor what HSMWorks/Xpress use`s is realy good it is a program in it's own folder it would not be hard for them to add it to fusion I wish they would. idea station doing it

Thanks for the sugesstions guys.

Viewing actually material removal from raw stock with well-proportioned tools is a bonus compared to just the path.

So far all of the the simulators..(.BACKPLOTTING was the word I was looking for)  have errors in terms of visual representation compared to Mach3's visualizer .

NC corrector,CNCSimulatoreither have problems handling  variables or subprograms... at least in a way that works with Mach3

Mainly I want a better visualization of my tool paths than MACH3's tool path window.....it's hard to see what is going on it it when the paths is complicated. Most of the problem is that in Mach 3 I can't find away to turn off rapid paths and this clutters things to the point of low readability.

Yes, know that I think about it, Fusion 360 probably doesn't have a need to backplot.

you can make a page in m3 to just show a tool path only
