Contour takes off on tangent G03 but not on similar pocket elsewhere

I am taking a contour cut of several pockets on a part. The CNC is similar to an OX CNC or Shapeoko using a GRBL controller and generates some odd profile behavior. 

 

My postprocessor is the Strooom post processor https://github.com/Strooom/GRBL-Post-Processor/wiki

 

This occurs only on one of two parts. The second is just a mirror of the first. So I cannot see what would cause this on only one set of pockets. I am also unsure how to remedy this problem

Hello,

 

I downloaded your part along with the post processor and am able to replicate the issue. The post processor has a few things which are incorrect, which are resulting in this output... I'll explain what they are.

 

The post is currently using two different format groups for XYZ outputs in arcs and linear / rapid movements. When outputting a value with the required format group, it will check the previous output value to see if there is any difference, if there isn't a change, the value won't be output. The problem is, when your arcs and linear moves are output, each one thinks it is in a different position... For example, when a circular move is output, it stores the value in the circular formats, meaning the linear moves do not see this new position (as they look at the linear formats to find the last output position).

Hi George.

 

Thanks, I'm always impressed with the support you guys provide.

That post processor has solved the path issues, I cant run it through the physical controller but I imagine it will be ok.

I'll have a look over the other post processor code and give some feedback on the git link just incase anyone runs into a similar problem.

I am the author of the Post Processor.

I developed it because I was having issues with the Generic GRBL processor : it generates some GCode which is not supported by GRBL, eg tool-change M6..

I'll take a look at your comments and try to improve the OpenBuilds postProcessor.
