Fusion 360 Admin Install not working under Sysytem Account
Hi
We have encountered a problem while mass installing/updating Autodesk Fusion 360 under System Account on windows 11 23H2 Devices. Computers are managed by Intune and are onboarede in Defender For Endpoint. The update process("Fusion Admin Install.exe" --process update --quiet) have always worked fine until now. New version was always installed with the new schortcuts and the old C:\Program Files\Autodesk\webdeploy\production\oldversionfolder was eventuallu removed.
But beginning of latest update 2.0.18719 the install will fail at the very end with "FileNotFoundError: [WinError -2147024894] The system cannot find the file specified" right after when the shorcuts are created. Then the shortcuts are being removed by the installer and the streamer.exe closes.
So far we have tried:
- Deleted all the Cached Temp folders. C:\Windows\Temp
- Turned on "Troubleshooting Mode" in Defender for endpoint and Disabled All Defender Modules in the workstation.
- Tried running the install also "run as" but nothing, ends up with the same error.
Regarding defender, there where no alerts in the security center on the machine or in the Defender For Endpoint console. The install\update works under user context, but this has to be done under system and to all users in our enviroment.
I m not been abled to find what kind of process/file is blocked or missing. Has Autodesk change the installer logic some how? Out of ideas. Have enyone encountered the same issue lately?
Also very strange path in the log file "File "R:\src\adsk\dls\streamer\process\.."
BR,
Martin

We are having the same issue. We can no longer update Fusion without running it manually. Looks like it's failing because it can't find the taskbar folder for the system account, to update an icon that doesn't exist in our user's taskbars anyway. Seriously AutoDesk?
Fails (as system)
MainProcess(1248) - ThreadPoolExecutor-1_0 - adsk.dls.streamer.process.process - WARNING :: Exception processing tasks for 63008b5d1c162ae2a81c57aaa8fc41cd7b483bf8: [WinError -2147024894] The system cannot find the file specified
Success on same line (as admin account)
MainProcess(16332) - ThreadPoolExecutor-1_0 - adsk.dls.streamer.windows.platform - INFO :: destination: C:\Users\admin\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar, launchname: Autodesk Fusion
Update: It appears this is a known issue and should hopefully be resolved in release next week. (5/13)
