Hello,
I'm new to this forum and also to autocad. But I have a real live question which I can't figure out myself.
I have a batch of boxessmall wooden with an inlay area on top. For the inlay area I want to use leather which will be cut using a cutting die based on an AutoCAD design.
Now my question: which procedure can I follow to recreate the inlay area in AutoCAD? The area itself has quite some rounded edges so I assume it's not a matter of using a caliper and noting down the measurements and recreating in AutoCAD right? Which tools/procedures are used to do this is accurate as possible?
Thanks in advance

I would recommend transferring the shape to paper with ink then copy that image to a pdf document using a copy machine. You can insert these pdf images into AutoCAD and draw over them. Once that's done, delete or move the pdf and you are set. I'm
attached a link to look at. Hope this helps.
