Hi i would like to know if i can password protect a DWG file.
and how could i make it so that no other person could use the DWG file without my permission is there a way you can watermark a DWG as well ?
I need to be sure when i share the file that the person can't give it to someone els and they can make changes to it or copy it over to a new DWG file and copy my information to there files.
Could anyone please guide me how i can make this possible ?
Kind Regards
Lodi

Hi,
sorry, password protection is not possible with AutoCAD.

The only really secure option that someone else can not use your data is to not give your data out. All other methods, even giving a paper to someone else, gives them the possibility to scan, vectorize and work with that.
Also watermarking objects would not work well as I would then save to DXF, remove the extended information and have the geometry to continue to work.
The best you can do is to use contracts which define what is allowed or not with your data.
