If you just want to be able to modify a rectangle (or any shape) by stretching its sides you can use regular associative dimensions.  If you do not want to see the dimensions lines but just the text you can turn off the properties that control their display.  In the following if you use the stretch command to change the rectangle the dimension values will update but their location will also change in which case you would need to reposition the dim text. image.pngcould be used to include the "x" between the horizontal and vertical value.
