Automatic Selection of MTEXT and MULTILEADER text whne editing

Hello... in earlier versions of AutoCAD (2000-2010 say) when DBLCLKEDIT editing MTEXT or MULTILEADER all the text in the Text Formatting screen would be pre-selected when it opened (ready for editing or you could do one backspace and all text would clear out). It does not do this anymore. Is there a System Variable that can turn it back on?

Command: DBLCLKEDIT

Enter new value for DBLCLKEDIT <OFF>: on

I checked this statement in 2010 and it not true (in this version)

Just textedit for TEXT elements works this way.

But no matter what version, you can not change this thing now - it is as designed, end of the story.

(or you used :LISPED as MTEXTED)

I agree with @cadffm -- in my experience that pre-selection of all content has been a plain-Text thing, not an Mtext thing.  And the question has come up before -- do a Search and maybe you can find such a thread, to see whether there are useful suggestions for you.

Once inside the editor, you can hit Ctrl+A to have all Mtext/Multileader content selected.  Or a quick triple-click will select it all [or just double- if there's only one word].
