Publish Problems - AutoCAD 2018
Running into a few problems with Publish in AutoCAD 2018. We've recently switched from 2012 to 2018...
Here's how we use Publish:
Open Publish
Load what we need to print
Import a specific Page Setup file with all our various settings that we need.
And here's our problems:
1. Printing using the AutoCAD PDF Driver, DWG To PDF.pc3.
-If it's a single print it will PDF just fine, if it's more than one it'll Error out with ERROR: Device not found.
2. When printing directly to a printer using that printers universal driver it will print in weird stuttering bursts. For example if I printed 20 pages the printer will print 1-4, and then 1-12, and then 1-20. This problem goes away when I run it through a .PC3 instead.

If plotting to DWG to PDF.PC3 file is the intent, why not just do so in PUBLISH as well by changing to that where hightlighted

And that will sort of work...
The problem with that is you can't specify the print sizes via just using that drop down.
And it's worked perfectly fine until now, and we know how much users love changing their habits.

Your title blocks are only in the model.
For automatic printing from the Model with all the parameters, there are additions for AutoCAD.
It's not a problem.
Attach an example of your dwg file, we will make an example.
Software development
Automatic creation layouts and viewport. Batch printing drawings from model.

I need more of a universal solution, sometimes drawings are all in model space, sometimes paper space, sometimes we have customer drawings with xref title blocks.
The goal is to be able to import a print setup for a PDF and just have it work.
Pretend someone gave you mystery grab bag of Drawings and you need to PDF them all to 11X17 extents PDFs quickly, how would you go about it?
In previous versions of AutoCAD we just imported the print-settings and they just worked.

AutoCAD and PUBLISH command are geared towards paperspace/layouts: aything to do with modelspace means you are stuck with a customized solution that almost always needs to be manually tweaked.
Automation only comes with pre-planning, or conforming 100% to the program's design intent (publish for layouts): grab bags are always excluded. Hire an intern if needed for those troublesome printing tasks

I can pull up 2012, works perfectly.
I can pull up 2013, works perfectly.
I even have a machine running 2014, works perfectly.
My problem is with AutoCAD 2018, and it is not functioning, so what changed?
I have tweaked all the settings, made new pc3s, etc. and have not found a solution. Can you batch plot paperspace through publish with an imported PDF Page Setup?

no general problems with 2018.1.2 and from another file used pagesetup.
Original 2018 DWG to PDF.pc3
AT PENDEAN
there is no difference between a modelspace and one layout. (Related to Publish)
And the issue description sounds really strange!?

I went back to look at the older AutoCADS and these settings don't exist:
Is there a way to disable the PDF options box? I think this addition might be giving me grief.

I avoid the 'DWG to PDF.pc3' driver and have had great results with 'AutoCAD PDF (High Quality).pc3'

All these options are also part of older DWG to PDF.pc3 /older ACADversion.
Just there wasn't the direct link from plot dialog.
Start an older version and check the options of DWG to PDF.pc3.
But now i am confused, perhaps i didn't understand your problem right (or you should explain what do you mean which option could make the issue)
Please test it with complete new and very small files, just with some objects inside. Still a problem?
Are you disable the background publishing?
Yes, all shojld work like in other versions, but we have to find the problem first.

1. Yes, We're on 2018.1.2.
2. Yea, I figure that we'll just keep using the PC3 files for these issues.

We have 10+ systems all with fresh installs of AutoCAD 2018 experiencing the same issue, so it's not an isolated problem.
