Purge text style AW_TAG

So... Anyone up for a challenge?

I'm unable to purge the text style AW_TAG

I've tried WBLOCK, saving to different file versions etc.

Saving to DXF, and manually delete the lines that defines the text style works. But I have to do this on many files. I was hoping to automate it somehow.

Best of luck!

Create a standards DWS file from a template that has everything you want and nothing you do not.
Then use CHECKSTANDARDS command with that DWS file in your problem DWG, go through the steps, it will be gone.

Probably best if you AUDIT, PURGE and QSAVE your problem DWG file before you do that of course.

Hi @rhesusminus

I have done it!!
It has a trap, but if it was on purpose it is very good lol!

Attached the final file, check what you want.
I have to go out for a while, I'll put them step by step as soon as I return.

By the way, I thought it would be more difficult.

They should promote me to 10 after this, haha.

Hello @rhesusminus

I don't know, my previous publication never came, so here's new:

Attached screencast.

The reason why they could not be erased is because they are still in use.

I noticed something strange in the "Text Styles" so I renamed them: (this was instinct and wisdom Smiley Happy)

Standard... to new name

AW_TAG... to Standard.

Using "Purge" I searched where they were being used:

Then I changed those uses and already, when purging was gone.

I await my next challenge, regards.

Agree that it was nice trick how to make the style Unpurgeable.

The original Standard text style cannot be purged even if not used. But could be renamed by the -RENAME command. So this style was renamed to AW_TAG.

Your fake Standard text style was used at Dim, Table or MLeader original Standard styles. So couldn't be purged either.

Renaming the text styles seems to fix it.
This must be an error somehow. You shouldn't be able to rename the "Standard" text style, and "AW_TAG" is somehow the Standard text style; Not current, but Standard.
Now... How to automate this for hundreds of drawings... :cara_que_ríe_con_la_boca_abierta_y_los_ojos_sonrientes:

Using checkstandards wasn't able to fix this problem.

I've successfully created a .NET add-in that removes the AW_TAG text style. Thanks for all your help.
