Central file option in AutoCAD

As we know that in Revit we can make central file and we can edit by multiple users. So is there any Process available to make a drawing file to central In AutoCAD, and can used by multiple users?

Thanks & Regards

No, there is no way to use 1 single drawing for more than 1 user simultaneously.

The .DWL files prohibits this. AutoCAD does not have any 'synchronize' functionality either.

Only way to do something 'similar' is making all copies and making 1 person responsible for DWG Compare and updating the main.

Is it possible to raise this  issue to development team for new enhancement in AutoCAD?

You can suggest all you want but I wouldn't get your hopes up for any changes in this area.

With a little planning and some CAD finesse, it is possible for more than one person to be making progress on a single file but they won't be working in it at the same time.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

NO. And it will never change in AutoCAD.

But you can learn about using XREFs in AutoCAD, which splits up your single cad file into separate individual portions that all come together in a top master file, thus allowing may users to use the many separate DWG files all at the same time.

There are many tutorials on the web, help yourself: I will get you started here https://www.landfx.com/docs/cad-basics/autocad-getting-started/item/2544-xref.html%22

Even in Revit, you aren't able to have multiple users directly edit the central file all at the same time. Each user gets a local file version of the central model to edit, and then each local file is sync'd back to the central model.

So I wouldn't ever expect Acad to work in a way that you can overcome a basic file limitation "feature". As others have said;  use xrefs, that's your best chance at coming close to how Revit works around this issue.

Maybe not *the* closest.  That would be using a document management system such as Vault or Projectwise, which provides some measure of check out/in and version control.

Multiple users simultaneously in the same drawing doesn't present nearly as many benefits as technical challenges and potential PEBKAC related problems.  Having multiple users take turns can be bad enough.
