Move customized settings from laptop ACad version 2018 to new computer with 2020

I got the error "License checkout timed out. What do you want to do?" After trying to fix the problem all the five different ways that was listed and not succseeding, the only option left, was to uninstall the program (AutoCad 2020) and reinstall it. Since the error kept me from backing up/exporting my Customized settings, I now have a new-installed AutoCad 2020 that works, but without all my settings!!!! So, my maincomputer doesn't have older versions installed because of a Space issue and the migration tool demands older Versions to work. I have an 2018 Version installed at my Lap-top, and have managed to export the Zip-file to the maincomputer via a joined server, but I cant unpack it or open it, and the migration "tool" doesn't want older versions.

How do I get the 2018 Customized settings from that lap-top, into the 2020 Version on my main work-computer????

I wouldn't trust the migration tool, because it will "migrate" undesired things along with your desired settings. Perhaps someone will come along and give you some steps to do what you wish, but I would advise you to figure out what these things are that you want to "migrate" and find a way to do it yourself.

For example, if you have lisp files, and a PGP file, and a custom menu file, etc., you could store those things in a single folder that you control (e.g. C:\CADSTUFF) and then it's easy to find when you want to copy or move it. For settings and variables inside the software, you can control many of those at startup (using acad.lsp, or acaddoc.lsp).

Good luck.
