Not surprised. If AutoCAD is to the point of needing repair/reinstall - it usually won't even run. It's much more likely that you need to reset your user settings (or what some call a hard profile reset). This involves renaming a registry key, and two folders. See this. (the article says to delete the registry key, but I just add a ".old" to the end of the name of it.) This will reset AutoCAD back to the defaults for that user, just like it's never been started up.

 

I have done this probably 30 times in the last couple of years (for multiple users, not just me) and it works 99% of the time.
